Octo Telematics' Asia-Pacific expansion plan goes on. The Italian IoT company, which landed in Japan just a few months ago, now has a new office in Singapore. A further step, the company says, in a strategy developed with the specific goal of helping the Asian connected mobility market in its growth.
Having a direct presence in Singapore will result in better and more timely support for customers, but also in an opportunity for cultural and technological growth through the presence of local specialists who can ensure Octo's functional and effective approach to the market.
Nicola Veratelli, CEO of OCTO Group, explained that the new Singapore branch will help the company's international growth strategy. "Our overseas sales are growing steadily and the development of new markets is very important. APAC is a key area and we expect a strong growth in the coming years, as well as the opportunity... to develop new solutions tailored to the the specific market, but potentially valid for the development of new solutions in countries where Octo is already present".
Octo Telematics' growth in Asia-Pacific is now in the hands of Florian Weber, who's been appointed Regional Leader APAC. Florian has a long experience in managing banking, insurance and OEM partnerships. He began his career at Porsche, where he held various roles over the years. He later joined Alliance Group and Safe-guard Products Australia as Group General Manager & Director. Before joining Octo, Florian was General Manager Finance, Insurance and Leasing at Eurokars Group.
Founded more that 20 years ago in the connected mobility market, Octo is now primarily focused on insurance telematics, fleet management and smart mobility. The company develops hardware components and advanced data analytics solutions for different business applications and use cases. Octo has currently 5,5 million connected users and holds the largest global database of telematics data, with more than 510 billion miles of driving data collected and over 501,000 crashes and insurance events analyzed.
