Accomplished legal executive, Iris Chen, joins Moloco to propel strategic growth and enhance corporate governance

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.: Moloco, a leader in operational machine learning (ML) and performance advertising, announced that Iris Chen has joined as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. This addition to Moloco’s executive team underscores the company’s commitment to supporting its rapid growth and expansion into new markets.

A seasoned legal executive, Iris Chen brings a wealth of experience in building and leading high-performing legal teams and advising companies navigating complex global matters. As General Counsel, Iris will spearhead Moloco’s legal strategy, playing a pivotal role in guiding the company through its next phase of growth as it empowers businesses of all sizes to thrive through operational machine learning. In addition, Iris will lead efforts to ensure that Moloco continues to be the most trusted and transparent advertising platform in the industry.

Prior to joining Moloco, Iris served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Airbnb, where she led a team of over 50 legal professionals. She was instrumental in supporting Airbnb’s global product development, partnerships, and operations. Iris advised cross-functional teams spanning product, engineering, marketing, revenue, and growth, playing a critical role in the company’s growth and product innovations over the past four years. While at Airbnb, Iris also served as the co-executive sponsor of the women’s employee resource group. Before Airbnb, Iris was a Vice President of Legal at Google, where she led large global teams and held a variety of leadership roles managing legal aspects of product development and commercial transactions for Google’s ads, search, and other flagship businesses.

Iris combines extensive legal expertise with a strong commitment to developing talent, fostering inclusive cultures, and championing diversity initiatives. Outside of work, Iris is similarly committed to supporting diversity through her work as a board member of the Silicon Valley Urban Debate League, a local organization that creates opportunities for students in underserved communities to learn and practice speech and debate skills.
