DSS Advances OR Efficiency and Patient Access to Surgery Across 85% of VA Medical Centers With LiveData Software Deployment

Through their collaboration, the companies have launched LiveData PeriOp Manager in 88 VA hospitals. The latest round of deployments brings the total of VA Medical Center (VAMC) operating rooms (ORs) equipped with LiveData’s perioperative solution to 85%. This widespread implementation marks a major step forward in optimizing OR utilization across the VA health care system.

• PeriOp Mobile Messenger™: The PeriOp Mobile Messenger allows HIPAA-compliant SMS/text alerts to be sent to the phones of a patient’s family or friend updating them on the surgery case progress.

• LiveData OR-Dashboard™ with Active Time Out®: Integrates patient information from the EHR, anesthesia systems, and physiological monitoring devices to provide a continuously updated, real-time view of the surgical case, from OR setup through the surgical procedure to OR turnover. The module also provides a digital safe surgery checklist that guides surgical teams through briefing, timeout, and debriefing stages of every case using a handheld “clicker” and a wall-mounted monitor.
