With the acquisition of 51% of the South Tyrolean company ICS, the business unit Digital Security will also strengthen its Security Operation Center

Var Group, a leading operator in the field of services and digital solutions for businesses and part of the SeSa Group, has acquired 51% of ICS, a company based in Bolzano, Italy with over a decade of experience in the IT security sector. The operation aims to strengthen the SOC (Security Operation Center) and extend the presence of Var Group in the DACH area (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
Founded in 2011, ICS offers a comprehensive portfolio of cybersecurity services, ranging from Assessment & Consulting to Network & Endpoint Security, to Security Operation Center activities. Synergies between ICS and Var Group Digital Security have already enabled the convergence of experiences on new platforms: cybersecurity in converged IT/OT environments, the integration of generative Artificial Intelligence models specific to SOC (Security Operation Center) activities, in addition to ICS's extensive experience in processes, risks, and protection methods in the industrial sector.
The shared industrial plan between the parties, starting from the last quarter of 2023, aims to enhance the SOC. ICS's resources will merge into the Blue Team area (SOC services), a group of cybersecurity experts dedicated to the defense of the corporate system. In the following months, an additional 6 technical and business development figures will be introduced in Bolzano and Munich. This will enable the presence in new territories in the DACH area: the majority acquisition of ICS will indeed allow Var Group to strengthen its presence in this region. At the same time, ICS is reinforcing its presence in Guadalajara, Mexico, through a branch office to offer services targeted at the LATAM and North America regions.
