The annual IoT Breakthrough Awards Program recognizes standout Internet-of-Things (IoT) companies and products

PROVO, Utah: Vivint Smart Home, a leading smart home brand in the United States, announced that Vivint Smart Lighting has been awarded “Connected Home Product of the Year” in the 8th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program. The program is conducted by IoT Breakthrough, a market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global IoT market.

Vivint Smart Lighting is an elegant lighting solution designed to make homes smarter and safer, and allows users to virtually "rewire” their home without touching a wire. It consists of three components, including the:

  • Vivint Smart Light Switch that adheres to any wall. It can cover existing light switches and wall plates, regardless of toggle or rocker switches, with no electrical work required. Smart Switches don’t require a constant power source so they can be placed on walls without existing switches as well.
  • Vivint Smart Bulbs powered by Zigbee that replace existing light bulbs and come in a variety of options. Vivint Smart Lighting is also compatible with most Zigbee-powered bulbs, providing even more flexibility.
  • Vivint Smart Lighting Bridge that serves as a dedicated bridge, providing dependable wireless communication between Vivint Smart Lighting products and the Vivint Smart Hub through a fast, reliable Zigbee network.

“Vivint Smart Lighting seamlessly extends Vivint’s home automation and security features, resulting in elevated convenience, safety, and peace of mind,” said Steve Johansson, managing director at IoT Breakthrough. “Common pain points for smart lighting solutions center around smart bulbs that rely on a constant power source, issues with switches and customization, as well as disparate apps, and Vivint Smart Lighting addresses each of those issues. The solution is simple and effective for any home, which is why we selected Vivint for our ‘Connected Home Product of the Year’ award for 2024.”

“We are thrilled to receive the recognition of 'Connected Home Product of the Year' from IoT Breakthrough for Vivint Smart Lighting,” said Jim Nye, chief product officer at Vivint. “Vivint Smart Lighting overcomes the limitations of other smart lighting solutions and seamlessly integrates with our smart home system, allowing Vivint customers to redefine their lighting experiences without any electrical work. This recognition is a testament to our team’s innovative approach and commitment to creating truly smart solutions that make homes safer, smarter, and more sustainable.”

The mission of the IoT Breakthrough Awards program is to conduct the industry’s most comprehensive analysis of the global Internet-of-Things industry and then recognize the ‘breakthrough’ innovators, leaders, and visionaries in a broad range of IoT categories, including Industrial and Enterprise IoT, Smart City technology, IoT Security, Connected Home and Home Automation, Connected Car, and many more. This year’s program attracted thousands of nominations from companies all over the world.
