CAMBRIDGE, England: Redgate, the end-to-end Database DevOps solution provider, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week with the launch of charitable and community support initiatives, alongside the announcement of a major commercial milestone.

Today, Redgate is announcing it has reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), a testament to its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and talent development. From a two-person start-up founded in 1999, Redgate has grown to a global business providing Database DevOps software solutions for more than 200,000 IT professionals globally.

“We could not be celebrating this milestone without the continued support and engagement of our customers and users,” said Jakub Lamik, CEO of Redgate. “Redgate has always aimed to create ingeniously simple software, making our tools intuitive to use while also solving complex customer problems, and we’re incredibly grateful for the confidence and trust our customers place in our solutions. The team of more than 550 Redgaters around the world are proud to be celebrating our 25th anniversary, and we’re committed to many more years of innovation within the database industry.”

Committed to community support

Since Redgate was founded, it has been known for supporting the broad data community with educational resources and events. The company is underlining its 25th anniversary with further initiatives to support its community of customers and users, as well as the broader communities it works within.

Firstly, supporting the company’s commitment to fostering knowledge and skills in the data industry, Redgate is offering ten PASS Summit Futures Scholarship packages to PASS Data Community Summit 2024 in Seattle this November. This initiative, which funds the ticket price, travel and accommodation, aims to provide learning opportunities for students and early years career professionals who are passionate about database development and management, and might not otherwise be able to attend. Futures Scholarship candidates can apply here.

The Futures Scholarship is in addition to a separate scholarship, the PASS Charitable Organization Scholarship. In this initiative, data professionals who work for a charity can now apply for a complimentary 3-day ticket to attend this year’s event. The Charitable Organization Scholarship is funding 16 complimentary 3-day tickets, supporting professionals who work for organizations with limited learning and development budgets.

PASS Summit, the iconic event which Redgate took ownership of in 2021, gives the data community unparalleled access to connect, learn and share with an international community of peers. Redgate wants to make this event as accessible as possible for as many as possible.

In addition, and in line with its environmental, social and governance (ESG) programme, Redgate is giving back to the community by making charitable donations to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a Cambridge-based charitable organization which supports coding education in over 100 countries worldwide.

Redgate’s ESG programme focuses on supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals around climate action, industry, innovation and infrastructure, and quality education for all. Partnering with the Raspberry Pi Foundation for this donation will support young people to access its Code Club programme, furthering its mission to teach young people all over the world to code. The Raspberry Pi Foundation also conducts leading-edge research into computing education, and helps educators support and empower STEM learners.

Supporting charities local to Redgate’s international offices, donations have also been made to the Cambridge Science Centre, British Columbia Schizophrenia Society, Save the Children, World Animal Protection, Cavalier Rescue, and Tafel Deutschland.

Commercial milestones and success

Redgate’s $100m ARR milestone reflects both a successful recent transition to a subscriptions-based business model and underscores the company’s robust commercial health. In recent months, Redgate has launched products including Redgate Test Data Manager and Redgate Monitor Enterprise, and also acquired DB-Engines, a valued, independent source of objective data providing insights on multiple database platforms to the community.

Since the company was founded in 1999, Redgate has been at the forefront of the rapidly evolving database management landscape, launching new solutions to enable automated database deployments, and always operating with customer success in mind. The team is proud to celebrate 25 years of Redgate and looks forward to continued innovation and development.
