Former Acorns marketing lead will drive growth for tech-driven flat-fee financial planning platform
NEW YORK: #Advice--Domain Money (“Domain”), a leading flat-fee financial planning platform, has appointed technology veteran Kyle Sausser as its head of growth and officially unveiled its new design and service offering. Led by the product team behind Marcus by Goldman Sachs and Clarity Money, Domain connects Americans with CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™ who provide personalized financial planning at an affordable flat rate.
Sausser is a seasoned growth marketing executive with almost 20 years of experience in creating novel growth strategies for early and mid-stage startups. He spent the past two years as vice president of marketing for ConsumerDirect, Inc., the credit building and privacy tool provider. He was previously head of partnership and affiliate marketing at self-directed investment app Acorns. In his new role, Sausser will be responsible for client acquisition, retention and satisfaction strategy. He will also lead all growth functions for the company, advancing its efforts to bring actionable, personalized financial planning advice to everyday Americans.
“Domain’s flat-fee offering was particularly appealing to me given my experience with investment-focused firms that charge fees based on assets. It's high time more of our industry challenged this norm,” said Sausser. “I’m excited to champion the innovative approach that Adam, Joanne and the team at Domain are embracing to bring high-quality financial advice to a broader audience.”
“We are delighted to welcome a professional of Kyle’s caliber to Domain Money,” said Joanne Bradford, chief money officer at Domain. “He brings an impressive track record of driving growth in fintech, subscription services, apps and SaaS. His experience will be key in executing our strategy, enabling us to reach more clients and help them live their best lives.”
Domain's reimagined platform leverages innovative solutions from OpenAI and Holistiplan to analyze demographic, transaction, investment and retirement data. It employs a generative language model to speed up plan preparation and cut time spent on manual tasks. This allows Domain Money CFP® professionals to focus their time on helping clients achieve their goals.
“We've built a financial planning service that's streamlined, practical and technologically advanced – but keeps trusted human advice at its core,” added Adam Dell, founder and CEO of Domain. “In the process, we're transforming the economics of financial planning, making it more accessible to millions of Americans who previously faced numerous barriers to getting the advice they need.”
Clients interact directly with their dedicated CFP® through the Domain Money platform, using video chat, messaging and document sharing. Each step of the process is systematized to ensure consistent, quality service. Clients receive a financial snapshot showing cash flow, net worth and investments. They also get a personalized to-do list in the form of the firm's proprietary One Page Plan. This provides a tactical guide for those who want to optimize their financial resources and includes a 90-minute financial planning session with an actionable plan. Domain’s extensive catalog of resources also includes free home affordability and retirement calculators.
Domain’s curated team of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™ brings experience at notable institutions like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citibank and BlackRock. Katy Song, CFP®, chief financial planner at Domain, has spent almost 15 years helping Americans get their financial lives in order and recently authored her first book, Financially Fearless: A Tech Mom’s Money Guide.
“Unlike many financial planning solutions that focus primarily on investment analysis and returns, our offering is about setting our clients up to live their best lives by creating specific, actionable steps for every aspect of their financial lives,” said Song.
