ST. LOUIS: Latch, Inc., soon to be DOOR, today announced its new R2 Retrofit Kit, engineered to quickly and simply replace outdated door access readers with the modern, mobile-enabled Latch R2. The new Retrofit Kit joins Latch’s suite of locks, intercoms, access control solutions, and building monitoring systems that enable Latch customers to deliver more value to their residents and generate additional Net Operating Income (NOI).

“The R2 Retrofit Kit is yet another example of Latch’s commitment to delivering affordable, easy-to-install access control solutions that provide state-of-the-art security and convenience without breaking the bank,” said Jamie Siminoff, Chief Doorman, Latch. “Now, upgrading your door access readers is a breeze and does not involve costly wiring changes or major alterations.”

With the R2 Retrofit Kit, it’s easy to upgrade properties with smart access control that is simple to install, doesn’t change the aesthetics of the property, and can be done affordably. The kit enables:

  • Easy Installation: Engineered for quick and simple installation, the kit makes it easy for property managers to "pop out" the old reader and replace it with the Latch R2, a mobile-enabled door access reader, without any need for drilling or major alterations. This reduces the time, labor, and cost typically associated with reader upgrades.
  • Seamless Integration: The R2 Retrofit Kit is compatible with the existing infrastructure of most properties, integrating smoothly with current building management systems and access points.
  • Enhanced Security: With smart access capabilities, property owners can offer residents advanced features such as remote access, customizable codes, and digital audit trails.
  • Cost Efficiency: By serving the needs of retrofits rather than complete overhauls, the R2 Retrofit Kit provides a budget-friendly solution for property managers looking to upgrade without incurring the high costs of a full system replacement.
  • Scalability: The modular nature of the R2 Retrofit Kit enables property owners to scale their upgrades according to their needs and budget. They can start with critical areas like main entrances and gradually expand to include all access points.

The R2 Retrofit Kit is available today for $999. Installation and bulk pricing is also available. To learn more, contact Latch’s sales team at sales@door.com, or email Chris Peckham, Head of Sales, at chris@door.com.
