PITTSBURGH: Founders of MedTech leader RQM+ launch MISSION: AGAPE, a nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity, starting in McKeesport, PA, where over 30% of residents face hunger. McKeesport, ranked Pennsylvania's most dangerous city and the fourth most dangerous in the U.S. (National Council for Home Safety and Security, 2018), is the first community to benefit from MISSION: AGAPE’s impactful initiatives.
MISSION: AGAPE began as the McKeesport Agape Center (MAC) in 2020 to address McKeesport's urgent need for food assistance. Now feeding thousands of people monthly, MISSION: AGAPE aims to expand its reach locally and nationally.
“We launched MISSION: AGAPE to bring lasting solutions for families struggling with food insecurity,” said Maria Fagan, Board President. “No family should worry about their next meal!”
Tackling Food Insecurity with Proven Business Expertise
Led by former RQM+ executives Maria Fagan and Lisa Casavant, MISSION: AGAPE tackles food insecurity by applying the strategic insights that built RQM+ into a global leader. With a focus on mobile food delivery, partnerships with local food sources, ISO 9001 practices, and data-driven outreach, MISSION: AGAPE aims to meet critical needs in underserved areas.
“Just as we held ourselves to the highest standards in the MedTech industry, we bring the same commitment here,” said Lisa Casavant, MISSION: AGAPE Board Vice President. “MISSION: AGAPE aims to be a model for how nonprofits can deliver resources effectively and sustainably.”
–Urgent Need & Fundraising Efforts
Currently, MISSION: AGAPE’s team of 40+ volunteers serves more than 5,000 individuals monthly. Yet, 110,000 people in the McKeesport and surrounding Mon Valley region still face food insecurity. Consequently, MISSION: AGAPE is launching a fundraising initiative, seeking support from individuals, businesses, and foundations to close this gap!
How You Can Help
MISSION: AGAPE invites you to join in fostering compassion, dignity, and lasting support for our neighbors. Your donations will help provide over 500 Thanksgiving meals, coordinate Christmas gifts and stockings for over 1,000 children, and sustain our long-term mission of year-round outreach and care. Make a meaningful impact this holiday season!
