Advertisers Can Now Buy Inventory Through Xumo on Google TV Freeplay, Giving Them a Simple Way to Reach Audiences at Scale
PHILADELPHIA: Xumo, the streaming platform joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, today announced it has expanded its enterprise partnership with Google TV Freeplay. In addition to distributing all 160+ free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels that are currently offered on Google TV Freeplay, Xumo will now monetize all those channels, which will be branded as “provided by Xumo” within the experience.
Facing increased fragmentation across the television landscape, advertisers are looking for the simplest, data-driven ways to find their audiences at scale. By offering Google TV Freeplay channels alongside its premium inventory on Xumo Play, Xumo devices, and third-party inventory on other streaming and TV platforms, Xumo is giving advertisers a simple point of entry to reach streaming audiences at scale.
“Advertisers know that streaming is the future of TV but reaching audiences holistically and at scale remains a challenge that can hinder more media investment,” says Ying Wang, General Manager, Xumo Advertising. “By adding Google TV Freeplay to Xumo’s growing list of inventory partners, we are making it easier than ever for advertisers to seamlessly reach incremental audiences across a variety of streaming platforms, far beyond FAST channels to smart TVs and other connected devices.”
The news comes as Xumo continues to bolster its advertising capabilities to support monetization across its growing inventory sources. Through its growing advertising team, led by Wang, Xumo continues to invest in its relationships with brands, agencies, and monetization partners.
In addition to offering a direct-to-consumer FAST service and next-generation streaming devices under the Xumo brand, Xumo powers over 1750 streaming channels across 20 entertainment platforms worldwide, including Google TV, Xfinity, and others.
