SANTA BARBARA, Calif.: Quintessent Inc., a pioneer in heterogeneous silicon photonics and quantum dot laser technology, announces the addition of industry veteran Bob Nunn to the executive team as Chief Operating Officer (COO), to help the company meet the growing demand in high bandwidth and high reliability optical interconnects for AI applications.
Bob Nunn has helped build several successful start-up companies, including Vitesse Semiconductor (IPO), Fulcrum Microsystems (acquired by Intel), E2O Communications (acquired by JDSU), Nurlogic Design (acquired by Artisan Components), among others. Most recently, Bob was CEO of Everactive, a start-up company building batteryless IoT solutions. Before Everactive, Bob was Managing Director at Intel Capital, focused on Data Center technologies, having joined Intel as part of their acquisition of Fulcrum Microsystems. Bob holds a BS in Computer Engineering from UCLA and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
“I am pleased to join this group of highly motivated and talented individuals,” said Bob Nunn, COO of Quintessent. “Together, we are building the next generation of optical interconnects that will aggregate massive compute and memory resources to power ever-growing AI applications.”
“Welcoming Bob to Quintessent marks the realization of a partnership I’ve long envisioned,” said Alan Liu, CEO and co-founder of Quintessent. “Bob’s deep expertise and proven track record in building and scaling successful technology companies are a perfect match for our mission and the opportunities ahead. I couldn’t be more excited to have him join the Quintessent team as we rise to the challenge of delivering scalable and reliable AI interconnect solutions.”
