Transformative Leader to Drive Innovation and Excellence in Real-Time Location Intelligence

ATLANTA: Cognosos today announced the appointment of Michael Finnegan as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With a proven track record in engineering and product development, Michael has extensive experience building high-performing technology teams and delivering market-leading products that seamlessly integrate hardware and software. In his role as CTO, Michael will spearhead technology development and deployment, ensuring that Cognosos continues to deliver essential solutions for the healthcare, automotive, and logistics industries.

Prior to joining Cognosos, Michael served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Hardware at SharkNinja, a renowned manufacturer of technology-enabled small home appliances. During his tenure, he consistently demonstrated a strong understanding of consumer needs and translated them into successful, industry-leading, technological solutions.

“Michael’s impressive track record of innovation and his deep understanding of hardware-software integration make him an invaluable addition to our leadership team,” said Braxton Jarratt, CEO of Cognosos. “As we continue to expand our offerings and enhance our platform at scale, Michael’s insights will accelerate our ability to bring to market solutions that address the complicated challenges our customers face.”

Following the recent launch of Cognosos Guardian—a comprehensive staff safety and duress solution—the company will continue delivering innovation in AI-native real-time location intelligence. Building upon its existing offerings, Cognosos will introduce new capabilities throughout the year. This includes enhancing current features and developing solutions for a wider range of business needs.

Michael spent the early part of his career in the automotive industry where he developed expertise in powertrains, electric motors and autonomous vehicles, and later transitioned into consumer technology and manufacturing. These combined experiences, which required robust technical solutions in demanding environments, provide him with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities associated with developing and deploying complex, real-time systems in a range of industries, making him a natural fit for Cognosos’ mission.

“I am thrilled to join Cognosos at such a pivotal moment in the company's journey,” said Michael Finnegan. “The technology stack the company has created–including LocationAI–has positioned the company at the forefront of delivering real-time intelligence solutions that will have a major impact on operations, as well as employee safety, across a wide swath of industries.”
