Acquisition enhances Crisp’s analytics and food waste reduction capabilities and fuels expansion into fresh supply chains
BENTONVILLE, Ark.: #BusinessInsights--Crisp, a leading provider of retail data solutions, has acquired Shelf Engine, the AI pioneer in demand forecasting and automated ordering. Crisp will integrate Shelf Engine’s advanced algorithms onto the Crisp collaborative commerce platform, empowering retailers to optimize in-stock inventory across retailers, reduce food waste, improve shelf management, and drive revenue in an increasingly margin-sensitive retail environment.
Shelf Engine specializes in predicting accurate demand for perishable goods, down to the SKU level, minimizing spoilage and maximizing fill rates across retail channels. By integrating this data with Crisp, customers will have immediate access to real-time, actionable insights that enable them to make data-driven inventory decisions based on true demand.
“Retailers are going through a digital transformation,” said Are Traasdahl, CEO and founder of Crisp. “Integrating Shelf Engine’s comprehensive demand data into our platform will empower retailers to make real-time inventory decisions that directly impact their bottom line. In an era of tight margins and rising costs, precise data is the key to unlocking new revenue streams while reducing waste.”
“Joining forces with Crisp allows us to scale our proven technology and deliver greater value to retailers and their supplier partners,” said Stefan Kalb, CEO and co-founder of Shelf Engine. “Together, we will set a new standard in forecasting and inventory management, helping our customers thrive even in challenging market conditions.”
The acquisition of Shelf Engine marks a new milestone in Crisp’s growth, reinforcing its commitment to applying data to drive operational excellence for CPG brands, distributors, retailers, convenience stores and others. Crisp and Shelf Engine’s combined strengths will provide companies with the tools they need to build resilient, future-ready operations.
