G11 Media's SecurityOpenLab magazine rewards excellence in cybersecurity: the best vendors based on user votes
G11 Media, a leading publisher in the digital technology sector, and cybersecurity online magazine SecurityOpenLab announced the results of the first edition of the Italian Security Awards. The initiative aims to recognise excellence in IT security services and solutions, with a focus on the actual needs of users. The winners of the Italian Security Awards were in fact selected on the basis of direct evaluations by end users, who voted for their favourite technology vendors in several vertical categories.
The vendors with the highest number of votes in each category were honoured at an event held at Theatro, in Verano Brianza, attended by more than 150 industry representatives, ICT professionals and market observers. The event was enriched by Context's contribution: a speech by Joseph Turner, Global Director, Research & Business Development at Context, outlined the scenario of the Italian cybersecurity market.
In Italian Security Awards 2024, end users expressed their preferences for a wide range of market areas: from cloud infrastructure protection platforms to SASE solutions, from Identity Management to OT protection and beyond, for a total of 20 market categories. Users were invited to evaluate each type of solution based on their direct experience. The evaluation process, which involved a two-stage voting process, garnered more than 27,000 votes, highlighting the preferences of over 4,000 unique users and helping to identify vendors that concretely support the achievement of today's required IT security standards.
Italian Security Awards therefore represent a valuable recognition for companies in the cybersecurity sector, offering an overview of the solutions that gain users' trust in an increasingly competitive and dynamic landscape. The evaluation methodology was based on a transparent and impartial platform, designed to offer a realistic and concrete picture of customers' needs and expectations.
In addition to the prizes awarded with input from end users, Italian Security Awards 2024 included three additional Special Awards: Quality Jury Award, Editorial Board Award, and Best System Integrator in cybersecurity. The latter prize was awarded on the basis of a survey conducted on a significant sample of the leading technology vendors in the Italian cyber security market.
The Quality Jury of Italian Security Awards 2024 is composed of highly experienced industry experts and CISOs who are members of the Digital Club / Cyber community (digital-club.it/cyber): Maurizio Anconelli, Enrico Benzoni, Mario Bizzi, Carlo Borello, Antonio De Martino, Andrea Fumagalli, Roberto Perelli.
Italian Security Awards 2024 join the other special initiatives of G11 Media planned for the coming months, including Italian Channel Awards 2024, dedicated to the ICT professional channel, and Italian Project Awards 2025, an award for the most innovative ICT projects implemented in Italy.
